I couldn't believe what I was seeing as I drove to Oxford recently. I saw 10 huge Raptors that looked like Red Kites. After searching the WWW it seems that that's what they were. Wonderful!!

My family and I were travelling down the M49 from Warwick on Wednesday 13 August 2008 and we saw several Kites. We did not know what they were, but we knew they were birds of prey but they were too big for Kestrels. It was only by searching on the internet that we came to know they were Kites. They were beautiful.

Thanks Myrah. Saw 4 large birds of prey with white underwings and distictive flying style when travelling south on 1st May between junctions 5 and 6. Then saw a further five when travelling north two days later in same location. Looking it up they were scavengers in London until recently!
